My hope and intention as I begin this blog is to give a thoughtful, considered response to world events, deep discussions and personal circumstances. I hope it will be encouraging, challenging, informative and edifying to those that read it. I by no means intend to be a self-proclaimed expert, but I do want to share my thoughts in the global marketplace of ideas.

I Hate Christmas Parties
The Chatham Holiday Party was very nice last night. But I still couldn't help thinking of this Relient K song from time to time.
Wow. I'm so glad that I listen to classic rock. This stuff makes me want to fill a bath tub with hot water and get a razor. Even Pink Floyd isn't that depressing.
I went to a Christmas party recently. I think it went all right, and normally I think parties suck. You have to be willing to talk to people and have very low expectations of anything of value happening. If you don't have anything better to do with yourself, parties are not a bad way to spend your time. I have found that it's better to be lonely and eat free food and have the possibility of not being lonely than be lonely at home where there is zero chance of the problem being alleviated.
That having been said, I went to IV's Christmas party, not my place of employment's work party, so it was more substantive (but probably not by much).
Thanks for sharing that song. I'm typically not a Reliant K fan so I never would have thought to listen to this if you hadn't put it in your post. It is a good song though and I liked it.
