Cars

One of the things in life that I will never understand is high end luxury automobiles. I was flipping through my Newsweek and they did a road-test on the Mercedes-Benz S63. It's a rather unremarkable looking car that gets 11 mpg and costs $130,775. I mean, you could even buy four Cadillac CTS's, the Motor Trend Car of the Year, for that amount of money. Or like a dozen Saturns.

The only expensive car I think I would want would be the Lotus Exige- that is one sick car.

The Exige isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things. It's only about $60k, which is expensive but a lot cheaper than V-series Cadillacs or a Corvette.

But I want a Caterham Seven or seven clone though. You can build a Westfield for about $20k. It's like a four wheeled sport bike.

Steve,
I saw that car in one of the dealerships I visited. I laughed when I saw the MPGs on it. After a month and a half on the job I am starting to realize how much dealerships rip people off! I saw a huge SUV that got 5 MPGs. So basically when the person leaves the lot they have to go right to the gas station.

You know, when a guy asks me, "What kind of car do you drive?" I reply, "It's a pretty gold toned one."

I suppose that isn't what he meant?

That's the beauty of it :) . I would settle for a Lotus Elise Type 72, if I couldn't get my hand on an Exige.

Otherwise, I'll probably just get an Accord or an Impala/Malibu. But that's all way off in the future.

If I move to the midwest somewhere and do field work, I could justify buying a Jeep...I'd probably get a Wrangler (the one that looks like the great-grandson of the WWII jeep).

BTW, Caterhams are cool.
